Southeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a planning and funding agency whose purpose is to fund services which enable older persons to remain as independent as possible in the least restrictive environment. The Agency subcontracts with a number of local in-home service providers whose speciality is the older adult.

Some of these providers have their own webpage to which you may be able to link. If there is not an active link for the service you desire, call the provider listed and ask for information.

Agency service subcontractors and the services they provide are shown in the chart below and unless specified, all services are provided in a four county area of Southeast Iowa.

Quarterly Newsletter
Quarterly Newsletter Our Agency publishes a quarterly newsletter called
The Advisor. If you are interested in having a copy mailed to you, you can send us an email which includes your name, address and ZIP code. We do not sell, rent, loan or otherwise give your name and address away. We would appreciate having a $5.00 to $10.00 contribution to help offset the cost of producing and mailing the newsletter.

You can also read the newsletter online as an Adobe Acrobat file by clicking here.
Advocacy
Agency staff, Board and Advisory Council Members advocate on issues of relevance and importance to seniors. We actively participate in public forums and arenas to make sure that senior services are appropriate and available.
Older Iowans Legislature
Seniors with an interest in legislative activities can participate as an Older Iowans Legislative Delegate. Delegates are chosen by county and serve a two year term. For more information on this activity, contact the Agency's Administrative Office at 319-752-5433 or 800-292-1268.
Operation Restore Trust of Iowa
If you are concerned about Medicare fraud and abuse, Operation Restore Trust (ORT) may be the program for you. This program is serviced by specially trained volunteers who will work with individual seniors to help them recognize Medicare fraud and abuse. For more information about how to access this program or have a trained volunteer contact you, contact us at 319-752-5433 or 800-292-1268.
Case Management Program for the Frail Elderly
The Case Management Program for the Frail Elderly is a coordination of services effort which allows eligible seniors to remain in their own home instead of having to make a decision to go into a more institutionalized setting. This program has many components and access to the program is either through many area home health agencies or the Iowa Department of Human Services county office nearest you.
Resident Advocate Committee System
This is a great volunteer opportunity for those persons who are interested in the well being of older persons who are institutionalized. Resident Advocate volunteers are assigned to care facilities to advocate on behalf of residents who may not have anyone else to advocate on their behalf.
Volunteer Opportunities
Many opportunities exist for volunteers. Our organization could always use volunteers to help us deliver meals to homebound elderly, help a Medicare recipient understand their medical bills or to answer the office telephone when all the staff have to be gone. We encourage all seniors to register with their local Retired and Senior Volunteer Program as we have a relationship with the local programs.
